HRM or Healthcare RM is the leading Company dealing with attendance management 1st Day Sickness Absense Occupational Health and all health related services.
We finished the ride today in Paris near the Eiffel Tower. Al of the cyclist from the 4 different routes finished at the same location a total of 600 riders. This ride is the largest London to Paris Charity Bike ride in the world and it was absolutely fantastic to take part.
The ride today was only 52 miles with another 10 miles in Paris including the ride to the hotel. The weather was good to us with clear skies sun and not too hot. The scenery was really quite spectacular as we rode through the French countryside.
The Team did fantastically well and it is thanks to Pamela Gellatly for getting us all involved in the first place and driving us to train for the event. There is no doubt about it the training did pay off and we finished with no injuries or a hate of the bike.
Thanks should also go to Tim Heard who has been relentless in his chasing the sponsorship and it was Tim who arranged and designed the cycle shirts bearing the names of our sponsors and securing the sponsorship.
Debbie Davies who wouldn't have considered riding a bike 12 months ago has gone from nothing to sometimes setting the pace especially when there was a refreshment stop ahead. Not forgetting David Rogers some say we only encouraged David to come with us so we could say we had our own Physio but not true David cycled especially well again having not done much cycling at all until he bought his bike under the cycle to work scheme through working for Healthcare RM.
Let us not forget Paul Howfield one of our colleagues who we met on Walking for health. Paul returned to cycling about 18 months ago and over the 4 days proved to be a great friend to all of us. Paul, Tim and David rode together and at a fantastic pace and all we can say is if Lance Armstrong is building another Team then these guys looked the business.
